Prayer Requests

As we live here in Armenia, we are constantly aware of the fact that prayer is much needed and works!
19 months ago, We made an appointment at the European clinic here in Armenia, and our suspicions were proved true by an ultrasound. Oliver made his first appearance into our lives.
What we imagined as a visit that would signal the beginning of a time of high emotional satisfaction, became a shocking immersion into an unknown future. The doctor recommended that I immediately check-in and stay off my feet, so that I wouldn't miscarry, and he called the pediatrician to perform an ultrasound.
During the ultrasound, they surprisingly found 2 heartbeats. That's right--TWINS! After the shock settled in, they explained the bad news: we were likely losing one of the twins or both. After more than eight hours in the clinic, I was discharged with an appointment to see how the babies were at 12-weeks.
A few weeks later, Nick went to preach in the small, remote town of Jermuk. There, a woman approached him. We had never met her before, and she had never met or heard about us. She said that God had woken her up in the middle of the night, shown her our faces, and asked her to pray diligently for us. We recognized immidiately that God had called her to pray the exact week that I was waiting for what could have been news of miscarriage
She said that God told her to pray for me as if she were praying for her own daughter, who had suffered through multiple early miscarriages.
We believe that she was praying for LIFE; for the joy and blessing a child would bring into our lives. As you can tell from the pictures on this website, we did not end up having twins. BUT, we are so thankful for the healthy child which God protected and gifted us with.
Prayer works, and we ask you to pray for these following requests:
- Pray for our children's evangelistic outreaches, and children's church training conference which we will be doing March 29 - April 7. We will give each church a year's worth of curriculum in Armenian, puppets and skits. Pray that their churches will believe in the importance of this program and implement it. May many children be brought to Christ through this effort.
- Pray for the youth pastors training seminars that Nick is starting. Pray that this will help breathe new vision and unity into the youth ministries of the local churches in Armenia. May God give us the words to say to them and may he bring youth pastors/ trainers from abroad who will guide these young pastors in the right direction. Please pray for nation-wide participation and a new passion and vision for youth ministry to arise.
- Pray for our translation projects. Pray for us as we try to find the right Armenian translation to use with our FIRE Study Bible project. Our goal is to see the first study Bible translated into the Armenian language. Also, pray that we will continue to translate the correct training materials that can be useful to the churches and pastors here.
- Pray for us: our health, encouragement, protection, Oliver's health, and that we can live and walk with God. May He use us to do the things He wants us to do. May we be open, every day, for God to use us in unexpected ways.
For those of you who read this, and take just a moment to lift these requests up to God for us, we are very grateful!
